Among the places where Dorit Whiteman has done "book signings" are U.S. Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C. and the Indianapolis Jewish Book Fair.

 

 

 Special Lecture and Exhibit

Dorit Whiteman gave a lecture on November 18, 2001 at Queensborough Community College in New York City to introduce an exhibit, "The  Teheran Children," which is largely based upon her book, "Escape via Siberia."  The exhibit was on display at the Queensborough Community College Holocaust Library from November 1, 2001 through June 30, 2002.   The exhibit can be available to other colleges upon request.  Check back here for dates when it may be touring at a college near you. 

 

Special Austrian Speaking Tour

Dorit Whiteman's Special Austrian Speaking Tour, during May 2002,  honored the tenth anniversary of the Gedenkdienst [In the Service of Memory], an organization founded by young non-Jewish Austrians to make amends for the misdeeds of the Austrian Hitler generation. 

  • Press Conference in Vienna to introduce the following night's lecture and discuss "Have We Changed?"

  • Lecture at the Literaturhaus in Vienna [Library dedicated to the contribution of former Jewish Austrians to the Austrian culture). Topic �Have We Changed?"

  • Interview on Austrian radio.

  • "A Holocaust Legacy: Have We Changed?"  Workshop in Salzburg, Austria with discussion between second and third generation Austrian citizens and former refugees on their attitudes.
